V in the Mail

V For Vendetta gets some column inches in the Daily Mail, which compares some of the events with current political moves and changes (part of V's genius is that although it is in some ways very 1980s it can be re-interpreted endlessly to new generations and times, much like 1984). In an interesting note the Mail discloses than Tony Blair's son Euan was involved in the filming as part of a work experience scheme and wonders if this helped in securing the permissions to close off part of Whitehall for several hours for filming. Good grief, even the Daily Mail is now prepared to discuss SF and comics... We must be becoming mainstream and even - gasp - borderline respectable...
