Peter Kay in new Who

Comedian Peter Kay has a role in this spring's new Doctor Who series after writing a fan letter to Russel T Davies! Despite his comic credentials it will be a straight role it was confirmed; Kay has essayed some serious acting roles in the past (I must say I am relieved since personally I have to confess I find him as funny as a dead halibut in my porridge). Other well-known names signed up to the new series include Pauline Collins, Maureen Lipman and Buffy star Anthony Head.
