British Animation Awards

The British Animation Awards were held last night in London, where Tim Burton's delightfully macabre Corpse Bride beat off competition from the Oscar-winning Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were Rabbit to clinch the best feature film award. Aardman didn't go away empty handed however as their Angry Kid for BBC3 won an award (best TV special) . London-based animator Run Wrake won the short film category for Rabbit while the Gorillaz picked up an award for best music video animation, which was chosen by public vote. This was the tenth annual British Animation Awards, which covers all aspects of Brit animation, from the studio to the student project - British writers and artists are a major influence in comics and it is nice to see support going to their cousins in animation.
