Dead By Dawn 2006 sells out

Scotland's leading lady of ghoulishness and the only Scream Queen to be promoted to Scream Empress, Adele Hartley, writes to let us know that the top Scottish horror film festival, Dead by Dawn, has sold out, some two months in advance. DbD has such a loyal following from all over the UK and further afield that it often sells out, but to sell out all of the passes this far in advance before the film listings are even announced speaks volumes for how good the festival is and how much it is valued by horror fans. All is not lost for those who do not have a pass yet, however, as Adele informs us:

"
Well, Dead by Dawn 2006 is now officially a complete sell-out. There’s not a Pass left to be had! Last year we sold out six weeks before the event, and I thought that was pretty wild, but to sell out 2 and a half months before the event, without announcing any films, guests or events is just plain incredible, so my thanks to everyone who helped melt the phones here and managed to grab themselves a festival Pass.

Now, to make sure that everyone who needs a horror fix gets a horror fix, we’re going to run a second all-nighter on the Saturday. This doesn’t affect anyone with a Pass already, but if you’ve missed out on the chance to attend the full event, you can still wind up sleep-deprived and twitching on the Sunday morning by joining us for the Movie Marathon. The programme for this event will kick off at midnight on Saturday 22nd April in Cinema 2 at Filmhouse and will be made up of 5 features and 10 shorts selected from the main festival programme. Tickets priced £20 are on sale now and are available from Filmhouse box office either in person or by phone – 0131 228 2688. The night will include a late bar till 3am and the kitchen open for breakfast around 7am."
