BAFTAs
Most of the BAFTA awards at last night's ceremony for movies with a fantastical bent fell into the behind-the-scenes or technical category, with Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire winning for Production Design, King Kong for Achievement in Special Visual Effects (which I find odd considering some of the effects shots clearly were not finished in that movie) and an award for Make-up and Hair for Narnia (hey, the Aslan look is very in among the hip young things right now!). However, one genre film did take a major prize - actually one of the major prizes - with Best British Film going to the wonderful Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were Rabbit. More huzzahs for Aardman Animation, who are clearly on an awards role right now and deservedly so.
