Against Gravity

Another Glasgow-based author, fresh from Worldcon, has been in touch – Gary Gibson, who has been suffering some problems with review copies of his latest – and eagerly anticipated by many of us who caught last year’s Angel Stations – book, Against Gravity, getting out before the convention.

The esteemed Cheryl at Emerald City has posted a glowing review of Against Gravity which is well deserved; Gary’s been getting tagged as a writer to watch for by many SF sites since Angel Stations and it’s just one of the reasons why Against Gravity with its excellent mix of politics, technology gone awry, mad scientists and even madder US presidents using terrible events to suit their own political agenda (so obviously it is a work of fiction, ahem) is one of our featured Book Picks in the current FPI magazine, along with the new paperback edition of Angel Stations – both offered at 25% off, so no excuses not to check out this exciting new writer.

Take Richard Morgan’s Market Forces and some early Bill Gibson and add the secret ingredient (we believe it is called Gibsonite) and you start to get the idea. Oh, and if you shake that mixture, we recommend stepping back for a moment and letting it settle before opening the book…
