More McDonald

Another author we've been trumpeting, the BSFA winning Ian McDonald has secured further book deals with Simon and Schuster following the great success of River of Gods (which is also on the Arthur C Clarke and Hugo awards shortlist, which should give you an indicator of how good it is). Ben Ball of Simon and Schuster told Ariel on the Alien Online that Ian had been signed up by them for a further two novels. The first is entitled Brasyl and is "set in the past, present and future Brazil, linked through the most shameful moment in the nation's history: 4:33 pm, July 16 1950, when in front of a home crowd, Brazil conceded to Uraguay the goal that lost them the final of the World Cup."

River of Gods continues to be offered by us at 25% off, as do the other BSFA and Clarke shortlist titles. Come on, you can't let reading of this calibre pass you by!
