Who is he?

As we continue to get very excited at the imminent return of Doctor Who to our screens I noticed this story on the BBC – the Welsh Assembly’s First Minister, Rhodri Morgan, was mistaken for an extra in the new Who series. His arrival at the BBC Cardiff studios (the show is produced by BBC Wales) for a political show coincided with extras arriving to be made-up as alien tree creatures. The Welsh First Minister was not recognised by the mostly London-based team who ushered him in with the rest of the extras for a rather more elaborate make-up session than a politician would normally get before an interview. Fortunately the mistake was realised before the Mr Morgan was made-up into a living tree creature.

Now, if only it had happened to a member of the Green Party it would be even funnier… Meantime we’re keeping our eyes peeled for new Who merchandise, but for now we have plenty of goodies based around the original show – I love this range of Doctor Who cookie jars!
