Straczynski is an Icon

OK, most of us already know J M Straczynski has iconic status – what I meant to say is the Babylon 5 creator who has been garnering praise for his comic work with Marvel has announced he will be publishing under Marvel’s Icon imprint.

First up is Dream Police, a project the Spider-Man writing Straczynski has been working on for some time (originally with Top Cow). Set in a dreamscape version of LA two detectives have an unusual beat to work – policing trouble in the city’s dreamscape. The detectives themselves have no super-powers and treat the bizarre dream world as an everyday police job – J M himself described it as “Dragnet in the Dreamscape”.

Dream Police is due to debut in Marvel’s June list. Straczynski’s Book of Lost Souls is another new project due later in the year (probably around September) from Marvel.
