Rumours have been circulating in the comics press over the last few days that Buffy, Angel and Firefly creator Joss Whedon would not be directing the X-Men 3 movie but had been snapped up by Matrix producer Joel Silver to write and helm the Wonder Woman big-screen outing.

Ain't It Cool tried to get an answer earlier in the week. Today the Hollywood Reporter and other online sources seemed to confirm their speculation was correct.
