Hellboy
Dark Horse has announced the first Hellboy mini-series for far too long. Hellboy: the Island #1 (of 2) has our favourite big, red guy washing up on an island (surprise!) where he is tempted by singing dead men and stubbornly decides to ignore good advice from and old enemy. This is to be a sequel to 2001’s The Third Wish and the first issue is due in June.
Those are the details, but really all I should need to say to you is two words: Hellboy and Mignola. ‘Nuff said! And if you can't wait that long there's a Hellboy story in Dark Horse's Book of the Dead due in May. Yes, I like Hellboy - can you tell?
In related news aforementioned Mike Mignola has been honoured by the Parsons School of Design in New York this month, being named "2005 Parsons Modern Master of Illustration". Well deserved congratulations for Mike from the FPI crew and again it is nice to see the art and design creativity and invention of graphic novels and comics being taken seriously.
