Church of Spider-Man
No, not a strange new religion, but news coming out from the Hollywood Reporter and other Tinsel Town showbiz sources that Thomas Haden Church has been signed up by Sam Raimi to play the villain in the third Spider-Man movie (due 2007, so we've got a little while to wait, but hey there's the Fantastic Four and Sin City coming soon and we have some great goodies lined up for those, graphic novels and merchandise, like these Sin City figures).

The film-makers are keeping quiet which villain from Spidey's rogue's gallery of bad guys Church will actually play. Church was oscar-nominated this year for his role in Sideways, in which he co-starred with Paul Giamatti who gave such an excellent performance in the movie adaptation of Harvey Pekar's American Splendor (now there's another title Crumb fans should be reading). And if you need a good Spidey fix, have a look at our webstore - Marvel have Spider-Man Doctor Octopus Year One due in April.
