| Can you believe this is the sixty-first volume in the Masterworks collection? Any collector who has all of those on her or his shelves must have a bookcase bursting at the seams
Nonetheless, like Mr Creosote, we're going to tempt you with yet another one, in this case the sixth hardback Masterworks of one of the most popular comics of all time, the X-Men.
This volume collects the X-Men issues #54 to 66 and includes scripts from Roy Thomas with Arnold Drake, Dennis O'Neil and Linda Fite, with art from Don Heck, Werner Roth, Sal Buscema and one of the best-ever artists to work on rival DC Comics' Batman, Neal Adams.
As my colleague put it "all the Neal Adams X-men; I remember how weird I thought they looked when I was a kid when they first came out. I sat for ages looking at them wondering what they were - I didn't read DC so had never seen Adams before. It was so unlike Kirby/Ditko et al; they are, of course, classic - some amazing panels in here."
