How does one start to describe Cerebus - Dave Sims 20 odd year labour (of love?). The comic will run 300 issues and is nearing its end now - only a couple of years to go - start reading the graphic novels now and you might just be ready to read the final issue as it appears. Cerebus touches on anything and everything human - love, hate, greed, generosity, life, death, power, politics, music and the war between the sexes amongst many, many other things.
You may not agreee with all of writer/artist Sim's views and political and social stances but there is more than enough food for thought for anyone in these books. And they are a damn good story as well - start with vol 3 or 4 to catch the total spirit of the comic and work backwards. |
